Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home by using a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not post any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the nsfas status last day.
